U.S. Marshall
To have a career working as a U.S. Marshall.
This is a long-term Professional and Personal goal.
This goal would have showed that I did all I could to prepare myself academically and have the necessary experience to become what I ultimately want to be.
This would benefit me financially and professionally. I would be part of an elite group in a workforce that carries a lot responsibility and pride. Show that I have succeeded on a personal level being that its a long time dream.
This would benefit my family greatly because it would mean that I would be working a good job with great benefits medically, salary is adequate, and can retire with full pension within 25 yrs of service. This would hopefully give me more time to spend with my grandchildern as they and I grow older.
A couple of barriers that may prevent me from this goal would be time. Concidering that I am starting a little later I would be older in age. Also my current job can slow me down from graduating if I can't complete assignments in a timely fashion.
I have started to work less hours so that I may have more time to do work and study. I also have surrounded myself around positive people with plenty of knowledge for support.
1: Get through my first two classes at Axia to give me confidence to achieve my main goal.
2: Obtain an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice.
3: Find a job in Law Enforcement, or in a similar field.
4: Find time to further my education an get a Bachelor's Degree.
5: Gain enough experience and knowledge to apply for a position as a U.S. Marshall.
My long-term overall target date is anytime in the year 2015.
