Everyone has their dream house, for most it is owning a mansion like the celebrities have with a pool, many bed rooms, and nice cars parked outside. It would be nice it have right?

In this day and age due to economy that is only realistic for those high on the social ladder. Today it is more sensible to rent a home because monthly rent is far less expensive than paying a mortgage. When buying a house one is responsible for property tax and maintenance which includes lawn, any minor damages that may occur like leaks or broken cabinets etc., whereas renting a home there is simply the monthly rent and possibly utility bills, some locations include that into the monthly rent. Down payments also come into factor in renting versus buying. When renting usually one is asked to pay the first and last months rent which runs about 10% of the total cost of the rent where as, buying is 20% of the actual price of the home.

The freedom one has when purchasing a house is a slightly better because they live by their own rules, it their property. When renting a property if the landlord or owner of the property one is renting doesn’t approve of animals or children then the person or persons renting have to abide by those rules. When renting properties there are often certain security devices installed, if something was to go wrong with it the landlord would take care of it whereas buying a house the person is charge is the one that is responsible for keeping the alarm system in working conditions. Having a good relationship with the landlord is very important when renting a property because they not only are who one would go to for any issues that may appear once settled into the home but also may be one to refer to if later down the line the renter would like to possibly purchase another house, or possibly even the house that is being rented.
