With a degree in Business Administration, Ruben Keys and Lisa Tejada are proud managers and owners of a nightclub music venue in the downtown area called Club IT. The live bands and DJ play a variety of music from hip-hop, techno, electronic, and some Top 40s. Club IT is a place with plenty of energy and a fun environment. Ruben and Lisa’s mission states: "We, Ruben and Lisa, offer you live music, DJ's, dance space and refreshments that suit your lifestyle. You are our friends, and we seek to build a community that meets regularly at Club IT." Although Lisa and Ruben handle all of the financial and business-related records themselves, they realize that the information management aspect of their business is lagging behind. They have hired me as an intern to do a full analysis on their informational needs. In order to justify my capabilities as an intern, I will have to help Ruben and Lisa find innovative ways to increase profitability and ensure efficiency in their club.

Club IT provides their clientele with a website containing helpful information on Club IT’s background, contact information, music genres and band nights, menus, merchandise, staff, club layout, employee and advertising opportunities. The information provided on Club IT’s website is mainly for client purposes but also for promotion and profit. Merchandise, such as T-shirts, glass mugs, shot glasses with Club IT’s logo on them are purchasable online, making it easy for customers to buy. They also offer discounts to members that joins the Club IT website.

Information systems, such as intranet sources are provided for employees on Club IT’s website, which includes a password to log into the employee portal. This gives the employees access to clocking in and out of shifts, schedules, training, keeping communication among staff, and putting in orders for food and drinks.
