Summary

On April 20,1999 Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris, two seniors who attended Columbine High School, Killed 12 students and 1 teacher during the middle of the school day.

Before this incident there were no signs of the students plotting. Everyone thought the two were regular high school students who played sports and enjoyed using computers. They were known to be intelligent students as well. Apparently Dylan and Eric had a lot of tricks up their sleeves, because nobody suspected a thing.

According to journals, after the tragic day both Harris and Klebold left behind journals, notes, and videos to be discovered. The two had planned to kill their peers since early April 1998, which was about a year before the actual incident. The two boys were very angry young people. Their original plan was to leave a 20 pound bomb in the cafeteria that could have killed approximately 488 students, but luckily the bomb did not explode. So the Klebold and Harris went with plan B and went on a shooting spree in the school building.

Many students seen Klebold and Harris shooting but assumed it was just a senior prank that students do before graduation, so they did not realize that they were actually killing people until after the fact. The students that were able to escape the scene were sent to Leawood Elementary School where they would be interviewed and placed on stage for parents to claim them. Unfortunately the parents who were left standing were those of the victims who were either injured or dead.

It is very unfortunate that this incident had to happen, especially being that it happened inside a school building. Students are suppose to feel safe and secure while attending school. By the end of that school day twelve students, one teacher, and the two shooters were dead, while many were injured. And still people wonder what caused this to happen what the murderers were feeling, what made them do such a thing. The answer still remains unanswered.
