Food Service

Food service is not only an asset to restaurant but also a striving and in ept field in culinary. To be without food service in a restaurant would be utter chaos. Down to the placement of the bathroom is all matters when it comes to food service, to have a job and what order, to what you’re going to be doing in a restaurant comes back to food service. Within these pages I will explain the important factor as well as the history of food service

Down to the street vendors of ancient Rome to the Chinese dynasties, they all sought their basic ideals from 18th century France. The word restaurant means in French as restaurer which means to restore. The first restaurants in France were not some dining area that fed wealthy aristocrats, they were establishments that helped sick people or unhealthy people to “restore” themselves, Cook-caterers (traiteurs) would come to feed the hungry patrons that came into the establishment. Makes you wonder how hospital is associated with this outline of establishment, Huh? The First real food establishments was cafes (they were defined as places selling drinks and snacks) was established in Constantinople in 1550e. They sold coffee hence café in the word, established educators to share ideas to one another, in most cases they would stay in for hours on end to share ideas. In modern times we still use the same concepts as book writers or authors would stay in cafes and share ideas with one another through technology.

The French revolutionary war set out to change how restaurant will forever be used, since this had happened it help create restaurants from keeping a set menu to take chefs to make their own menus. Thus the first restaurant was created. The French based their restaurant as a chef and servers and through those bases changed how we serve and cook our own meals today in America.
