Comparison and Contrast

The drug laws in the United States and Netherlands and British Columbia in the criminal justice is very different from each other. Smoking marijuana, you have to get a medical card to smoke it in the United States or it will be a misdemeanor. It is completely legal to buy and sell in coffee shops all over The Netherlands and British Columbia and walk and smoke on the streets. There is no drug that is illegal in the Netherlands. Drug use is viewed as a sickness, not a crime. The drugs become decriminalized, when coffee shop owners buy large amounts of farmers outside the city. Half the Dutch had toke and half drink some both but either way it is legal or decriminalized in Holland. Coffee shops are allowed to sell 5 grams of cannabis to anyone over the age of 18.

Possession of marijuana is a federal crime. It is therefore against the law in the entire US. California and a few other states have introduced medical marijuana or have decriminalized possession of small amounts of marijuana, but since federal law trumps state law, it is still a crime everywhere. However, the federal government limits enforcement of drug crimes to only the large distributors. It is unlikely that a person possessing less than an ounce of marijuana will be charged federally. In another state that allows or does not enforce it; people can easily get away with it. The only thing that is similar is the age of having any drug is 18 or order to smoke in both countries.

It will be different the United States will do the same like The Netherlands because it does have some positive way of it. Marijuana is one of the most valuable plants in the world.
