Norway is a very intriguing company for Green Mountain Coffee Roasters to expand too because of its strong economy, political background, and its large consumption of coffee. The fact that Norway is the second largest consumer in coffee in the world should peak an interest from Green Mountain. Norwegians consume almost double what an average American consumes per year (2). Although Norway has a much smaller population, it is still worth it to pursue an opportunity to get into the coffee business there. The country is fairly upscale and would fit perfect with how Green Mountain conducts business. Norway also has a new prime minster who is changing the government slightly and spending slightly more money which could help grow the economy and make it so the country becomes more wealthy. There are only positives that could come out of expanding to Norway and this is why it should be strongly considered for Green Mountain if they hope to expand and become international.

The current state of Norway’s political system is a constitutional monarchy, which means that there is one main leader and a parliament system that all are bound to follow a constitution. The Prime Minister is Erna Solberg and she is the leader of the country, but they also have a six-seat parliament who assists Erna in running the country. Modern Norway is thought of as one of the most peaceful and politically stable countries in the world. They are also one of the wealthier countries in the world. The politically stability can be attributed to the culture in the country of political and economic equality. It is known as a welfare state where there is equality between people and not a large wealth gap. The Norwegian’s political stability can also be attributed to their very “homogenous” state where over 95% of the people living there are born in Norway and have only been taught one way of government (1).
