Alice + Olivia Spring 2014 Collection Review – Sporty and Sassy

Alice + Olivia seems to be a brand that is skyrocketing in popularity and is sure to be seen all over in the spring of 2014. The new collection seems to be perfect for clothes, accessories, and even to dress up for parties. Although they are known for their ball gown skirts and fitted tops, their new spring collection has added quite the flare. With a glimpse of preppy and sporty their tradition look has added a country club twist. Their pastel color palette is giving their look a more “girly preppy” edge. What makes this collection stand out more than others is she pays close attention to embellishment and detail. She also took inspiration for different things such as The Great Gatsby and Japanese inspired prints and combined them into a flawless dramatic piece. Alice + Olivia designer, Stacey Bendet knows how to design a collection that not only is breathtaking, but will be a huge sell out.

What makes Alice + Olivia’s collection so much more unique than other collections is that it remains classic yet bold and detailed. I find this very important in collections due to the fact that modesty is important because someone can be just as classic and sophisticated wearing things that don’t show a lot of skin. I think pastels are becoming very popular and won’t die out fast like a lot of prints and bold colors have in the past. They have taken a whole different approach while defining preppy and sporty into their collection that will give preppy a new name.
