The importance of equal opportunity and anti-discriminatory practice
It is extremely important to treat everybody as an equal, no matter what their beliefs, religion, skin colour, ability, gender or sexuality, this is required by law. No matter how you may feel about a person, I should keep my opinions to myself.

Potential impact of yourself on the relationship
There could be a conflict of personalities or beliefs between myself and the client which could present some difficulties for me to work with. There is also the possibility that a client could push my set boundaries to the point that I could no longer work with them.

Client’s background and culture
There could be a conflict of beliefs and values relating to a clients background and culture. The client could have been imprisoned in the past for crimes that I may feel strongly against or the client may come from a culture that’s beliefs are in direct conflict with my own.
While it may be difficult I would remain non-judgemental and try to work with the client to the best of my ability.

My own values, beliefs and behaviours
My own values and beliefs are very important to me, they make up the person that I am today, I try not to let a client change any of my values or beliefs, but as they are evolving all the time, there is always room for change and improvement.
1.3.2
The clients need to retreat at different times
The client may need to sit still and look withdrawn at times, this is due to the client processing what has been said or it could be that the client is feeling a bit guilty. If a painful subject is being discussed the client could be lost for words and just sit there emotionless. The client could also retreat into themselves if they fear they might be judged on what they may have or not done, they could be embarrassed or ashamed of their actions.
