IBM

The company that I researched was IBM Inc. IBM actually has a number of different locations where it is located. The main office for IBM is really in Endicott, NY but has a number of smaller branches in a bunch of states. The location that I was more interested in was Rochester because it is close to my current town of Blue Earth and really not sure if I am ready to move until I get a few years of experience first.

The Rochester site was founded in February of 1956 by the president of IBM Thomas J. Watson Jr. The company had go through a number of changes through out the years by expanding and changing General Managers The last time a General Manager was announced was back in 1981 when William C. Lowe was brought forth and there is no other record of having a different GM now.

The reason I chose this company is because it has a great reputation for computer support and is a company of this century by means of computers. The most unique thing about IMB has to be its history it is know for in the development in computers. If I could get a job there I would have to get the network administrator position because some days you don’t have to do anything but be there, and on other days you could be running around with no time for a break.

One other thing that I like is how it challenges you to learn and decide on how to fix things quickly, because if something is down you have to find out what is wrong and fix it fast. If I’m not doing my job right than other people can’t do their job.
