CheckPoint: Sexual Techniques

The sexual techniques discussed in the text are masturbation, fantasies, foreplay, and coitus. Masturbation is a technique that involves one touching them selves relieving sexual tension or self-pleasure. Fantasies are used either by one or more persons to increase arousal. Many use fantasies during masturbation or to heighten sexual arousal with a partner. Foreplay involves many different areas of affection. Cuddling, kissing, touching or petting each other including oral stimulation.

The roles and connection between kissing, touching and foreplay are they all include the participation of both partners. All three when combined can lead to arousal and with the intend of sexual intercourse. There is however different types of kissing. You have the simple kiss, which is a sign of simple affection. Then you have French kissing which is when the tongues of each partner touch. You also have simple touching. Holding hands for one is a simple touch. Caressing and petting of each other’s genital area is more intimate touching. Foreplay consists of all three and then some. Oral sex is usually included in this.

Masturbation has been and probably always will have different levels of acceptance in different cultures. Some see it as a sin, some see as forbidden. Some see it as punishable by law. Many went as thinking that certain foods enhanced the need to masturbate. Female sexual arousal has been frowned upon during history. It was even considered an illness at one time with women who became aroused seeking medical assistance. This assistance often took the form of manual stimulation that was said to rid the patient of the illness of arousal. It was considered unhealthy and improper for the woman to masturbate herself.
