THESIS

The author of this paper has a view on women in ministry that is somewhere between egalitarianism and complementarianism. Due to this fact, the author of this paper will attempt to show that women do indeed have a role in ministry. However, this role does have its limits in the context of the required reading, the Bible, and scholarly articles.

INTRODUCTION

James Beck’s book, Two Views on Women In Ministry, introduces the reader to two different positions on the issue. The two different positions are the Egalitarian and Complementarian perspective. Both claim to be biblically based. Linda Belleville and Craig Keener supports the Egalitarian position with responses from Thomas Schreiner, Craig Keener, and Craig Blomberg. Craig Blomberg and Thomas Schreiner champion the Complementarian position, with responses from Linda Bellville, Thomas Schreiner, and Craig Keener.
