A Perspective on Technology

Yesterday when I woke up, the first sound I heard was the music from my ipod through the docking station that acted as my alarm. Coming fully to consciousness I notice I left my laptop open from the night before. Watching a movie helps me fall asleep. Since the laptop is already open I figured why not check some of my favorite websites for any new note worthy news that might have happened in the eight hours I was asleep. Before I even get out of bed, I’ve already seen any new developments within my social circle, read a couple articles on interesting subjects, and laughed at stupid pictures and videos. When I do finally manage to get out of bed to officially start my day, I turn the music playing to the radio so I can listen to NPR while I make breakfast and get ready for class. On my commute to class I listened to the podcast I downloaded the night before. In class I opened my laptop to help with my note taking while listening to a lecture. Throughout the day I received texts from friends and family. Having the internet on my phone allows me to check online several times though out the day. After classes I found myself back at my apartment consuming more technology. Browsing the internet for hours (after homework is finished ofcourse) while the sound of the radio is a constant backround noise. At the end of the day I am back in bed watching another movie. Technology makes my day much more comfortable and easier to get though, but I feel like I am givingaway important aspects of life for comforbility
