Self Assessment

Listing my accomplishment is something I've never been able to do very well. I don't consider myself successful yet and I truly think my professional accomplishments are just around the corner. Next semester I will be completing the certification for Human Resources Assistant. That will be a proud moment for me. Once I have completed my certification I do hope o continue on to obtain my A.S. In Business Administration. My main goal after getting my certificate is to procure a full time job in some aspect of human resources. If I am able to do that I will be able to work and support my family while continuing my education.

1-minute Self Sell

I have had more than a few little jobs since I started working at 16, but am now focused on a career. My experiences range from retail sales to receptionist work. I'm a very fast learner so I am able to quickly adapt to most situations. I am two courses away from finishing my first professional certificate at Chabot College and plan to eventually get an Associate's Degree. I am seeking a career as either a Human Resource Assistant or Administrative Assistant. I prefer an office setting with a regular schedule so that I can also have time to focus on my health and family. Most of my career searches are leading me to small businesses because of my lack of experience on paper, but all I need is for one company to take the chance on me, so that I can perform and be with the company long term. The reason I am looking for work is because I have been a homemaker for over

three years and it's not what I want out of life. I want to contribute to my family and be able to buy a house within the next 3-5 years.
