Sands through the hourglass of EUP1501

This module has been challenging, exciting but most importantly insightful. I usually have an idea of what to expect as well as the difficulty levels of a module but I never imagined a module like this that literally brought joy and heartache at the same time.

What I learnt from this module is to always look beyond the question, have an in-depth understanding and then answer unfortunately it took a bit longer for me to grasp the quality of the work that needed to be completed nonetheless I can say I am computer literate even if I’m still at the beginners level.

My absolute favourite section of the learning unit was and still is unit 2, Getting started with window Explorer 10. It entailed of the basic Windows definitions as well as convenient keyboard abbreviations and functions, which are now very useful when I use a computer. The most challenging for me was assignment 8 Excel, this was my first time exploring the various options within the spreadsheet and kept thinking as I went along why I was not taught computer literacy in high school.

The discussion forums and the topics being discussed reminded me that I am not alone and our main objective is to obtain our qualifications in our respective fields. I interacted with individuals all around South Africa and this emphasizes that technology is bring people from various areas together making us a global community. We exchanged contact details, discussed assignment questions and shared our discernments even though at times we were all wrong (we shared our marks and realised we over analysed and missed the plot).

Assignment 3, gave me the opportunity to interact with a few elderly community members in terms of the cell phones they would rather have in the long run. The PowerPoint presentations exercises and units will definitely benefit me, not only in the present but my future career aspirations.

Time management has been completely upside down...
