Introduction
The issue on whether or not to play Division 1 athletes to attend college and play for the universities collegiate athletic department has been an ever going issue for years and figures to be one for more years to come. There have been many arguments on whether or not to pay these students for their contributions to their respected universities. Throughout this paper I will analyze the legality of the payment for the participation in collegiate athletics and how it is viewed from an ethical standpoint; along with comparing the issue to Utilitarianism and Kantian ethical analysis. I will also look at how paying college athletes affects the social responsibility of the Universities for which they play for and how that should affect how they disperse there revenue.
