Case Study Analysis for ABC Inc. Planning and Communication

Introduction

Hiring new employees can be an exciting time for a company adding new people to the workforce brings different ideas and adds diversity to a company. However when hiring new employees it takes planning, time management, and good communication. Inexperience, poor planning, and not communicating will lead to an unsuccessful hiring process.

Background

In April, Carl Robins, the new campus recruiter for ABC Incorporated was in charge of selecting and hiring 15 new employees to work for Monica Carrolls, the Operations Supervisor. Carl was only employed for six months with ABC before he was assigned with the hiring task. Case study showed that Carl was inexperience in his organizing and planning as he neglected to follow up on the new employees hiring packets to ensure that all applications where completed accurately and that all the employees where medically cleared. He also displayed poor time management by waiting almost two weeks to check the availability of the orientation room and the number of employee’s policy booklets and manuals to handout to each employee for the first day of orientation. Carl failed to communicate with his coworkers witch lead to an unorganized orientation.

Key Problems

The key problems that exist with the hiring orientation at ABC Incorporated is planning and organizing. Carl needs to communicate with his management team and new hires to fix these following issues:

* Locate new orientation manuals

* Contact management team

The first thing Carl should do is get in contact with all of his new hires soon as possible and have them resubmit a completed application. After all of the applications are received Carl then needs to personally check each application for completeness.
