http://www.faa.gov/nextgen/ There it is in all of its glory. The idea that we can change the entire system into a model that will work better and faster than it does now. We have been told since its early beginnings it is what we need, it’s the future, it’s happening now. I am in my 4th year of school and my 5th year working in the industry. I understand the idea of direct approach and increased control, increased departures it all sounds great.

However at its core it favors one industry over others it is the idea of commercial airlines. What wrong with that well on the face nothing after if commercial airlines are going to foot most of the money for implementing they should get something in their pocket for the return shouldn’t they?

Well here’s the problem you can go to 5 different sites on the internet even two or three on the FAA’s own web page and get 5 different ideas on what it is going to be and how it’s going to be implemented. This is in part because of the money involved you have the airlines, Boeing, Garmin, the DOD, Honeywell, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon NASA, NBAA, ALPA, ATA, and the AAOPA all pulling for their piece of the pie and for their interest.

year 2012 budget. All that with additional considerations that are not even discussed in the pages of the FAA. Without a viable space program how are we to continue to operate and repair our satellite ring that is necessary just for GPS navigational issues. Anyone who flies much has had to notice the fact there are large parts of the US where there are internment GPS downgrading throughout parts of the year because of the loss of a couple of satellites what are we...
