Allowing girls to be sexualized in the media. With the media sending these messages to young girls it is causing many girls to doubt their self-worth and leaving them to fight with depression, self-esteem problems, and different disorders (mental and physical).

Who is your primary audience or reader? Why? Be detailed in your answer about your audience.

The primary audience is parents of young girls and young girls. Parents are a part of the audience because they are the ones who need to support their daughters and tell them they do not have to be like girls on TV or in magazines. This is also supposed to reach out to girls because it shows them its ok not to be “perfect” or what society tells them what they should be.

My point is that the over-sexualization of girls in the media for entertainment purposes has cause young girls to live with low self-esteem and other frightening problems, subjecting to being over sexualized is a problem but when young girls are being sexualized can have horrific consequences. With magazines and television exploiting young women and girls is making it harder for little girls to grow up without having to be judge by society on what they should look and act like.
