I do not handle people criticizing me very well. I can handle some constructive criticism every once and a while, but I prefer not to be criticized. Since I am like this, it urges me try to be as perfect as I can so no one has anything for which to criticize me. Normally I am the person who is giving the criticism, so I am not used to receiving it. You can receive criticism from just about anyone. The biggest place criticism is shown occurs at one’s job, though it can often it can come from friends and family.

There are numerous ways to handle criticism. I am going to talk about a few ways to handle criticism in this paragraph. The best way to handle criticism, especially from a superior, is to just listen and do not retaliate. Listening applies to every type of criticism, whether it is constructive criticism, feedback, or complaining. Another thing to do to try and handle criticism is to consider. You want to consider what the other person is saying because it might actually be true and you could be too hard headed to believe it. Also after receiving the criticism try to see if you have attempted to correct on what you are being criticized.

Friends and family can often give you criticism. Often times, criticism from friends and family can hurt much more because it comes from your loved ones. It is so hard because friends and family are supposed to work together and provide support and caring to all of its members. Many parents believe that being critical makes their children better in life. So I guess the only way to deal with criticism from loved ones is to know that they are mostly trying to make you the best person you can be. They are not trying to hurt you because they care about you.

I believe that no one should be criticized in front of others. I have one story from work when a co-worker, who was way older than I, acted like my boss and criticized me for something in front of a customer. This particular co-worker was already in a...
