Introduction

Hello my name is Barbara Poe, my goal today is to convince teens that texting and driving can be hazardous to their lives and everyone else on the roads they travel. I will be trying to persuade them not to text while driving by giving them scary statics. I will be asking teen drivers to take the pledge not to text and drive.

Texting and driving is:

A. Distractive driving – Taking your eyes away from road while

B. About 6 times more likely to cause an accident than driving intoxicated

Texting while driving has become more common in today's society. This is largely due to the advancement in technology and use of smartphones, cell phone, tablets etc. Texting and driving is a dangerous temptation for teenagers, and can lead to the same deadly results as drinking and driving, According to SADD (Students against Destructive Decisions) and Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, instant and text messaging while driving leads the list as the biggest distraction while driving.
