Your Marketing Plan

 The marketing plan in its

basic format — 5 objectives and 4 strategies — is used all over the world for any type of product or service because it is so simple and logical. Therefore, it also applies when you market your own services.

Marketing objectives

To see how it works, let us look first at the objectives:  The basic idea of marketing is to satisfy specific customer wants & needs: hence the first question “what are the customers needs I want to satisfy with my services?” This could be, for example, “transportation of people.” As each basic type of customer need has given birth to an entire business, the answer is called: Target business

….then you have to decide with what type of product you want to satisfy those needs. Say you decided you want to do this by selling your services to a passenger car firm. This is called: Target market

 This automatically leads to “what do I want to achieve,

how much do I want to sell, what share of that market do I want to acquire for me?” The answer to this question is called Target market share, but to better apply this to you we will call it: Target function

 Now you will say to yourself, “fine but I need to

get something in return for my work.” In other words you want to determine your: Target income

 Finally, you determine whom you should

approach to reach your goals. This is called (what else): Target customers

Strategies …

Regarding your strategies, or everything you could do in order to reach your objectives, marketing people have grouped them all into 4 different categories: Price strategy: how you should price yourself to be hired 2. Place strategy: how and where you will sell your services 3. Product strategy: which key strengths you want to promote 4.
