SWRMC Leadership

Introduction

Southwest Regional Maintenance Center the largest and most diverse intermediate maintenance activity. The command provides intermediate level maintenance support and selective maintenance training to over 100 surface ships, submarines, shore activities and other commands of the U.S. Pacific Fleet. There an intermediate level facility to advance the Fleet service by connecting the void between routine shipboard repairs performed by ship's force and depot level repairs ("Welcome to regional,").

My role is a contractor who works for Epsilon Systems Partners, is to refurbish naval ship communications by testing, sanding or blasting, bonding, priming and painting. Also we do assist jobs from other departments from the product family such as sanding and painting binocular, torpedoes tubes, and lift raft shells.

The shop I work for is apart of the production family; it is comprised of three other shops, corrosion control who’s responsible for power coating hatches, scuttles, ward room/ mess decks tables and chairs, damage control equipment such as fire hose reels, values, the life raft shop who recertify life rafts and the rast shop. All of the shop have the same product line manager and experience some of the same issues my shop does. Some issues we deal with on a daily basis are, constantly being talk down to, shows favoritism, and believes everything should be done his way. He walks around all day looking for anything to complain about, if he sees someone standing around taking a break he automatic assumes your not working and calls the supervisor asking why you’re not working. No matter how hard you work it’s never enough, he thinks everyone should be like a robot and keep going without taking a break. He also encourages the shop supervisor to be more like him, being stern, unfair, unreasonable, and micro managing. A couple of recent events that happened were he’s trying to deny me from going to...
