Online Gaming is Healthy

Based on the title of this essay, I’m guessing you’re already thinking about the many disadvantage of online gaming and how it’s affecting the people around us. First of all, I would like to say that in every certain subject matter or issues which have disadvantages, there’s also the bright side or what you call advantages. The point of this essay is to give people the knowledge and information of the beneficial of this so called online gaming. Just like any airborne diseases, online games are quite contagious. Why? A kid who enjoys or finds entertainment in a certain game can tell all his friends about it and the next thing you know, all his friends or maybe a group of kids ranging on the same age are playing this certain game.

Before engaging into a subject matter where in you want to get involved to, why don’t we start by defining what it really means? What is online gaming, and what is it all about? "Online gaming is a technology rather than a genre, a mechanism for connecting players together rather than a particular pattern of game play. Online games can range from simple text based environments to games incorporating complex graphics and virtual worlds populated by many players simultaneously." That is the literary definition of “online gaming”, but how does our audience define it? Many gamers define online gaming as entertainment, pleasure, and relaxation. It is true. On the other hand, some define it as a threat and a total waste of time. Why? It is because people spend too much time on the computer instead of taking amusement and contentment on what’s on the real life, or what’s in front of you. But that’s not really a valid reason to hate online games. Instead of hating and cursing it, why don’t we make the most of the possibilities we can get from this creative and scientific invention and just appreciate the modern technologies that are made to make our life much easier and enjoyable?
