My Personal Semester Goal –

In April 2009 I had bariatric surgery (weight loss correction) to battle some of the harsh medical problems acquired from birth and to avoid further medical/death in the future. Since the day of my surgery, I made a life style change to change the way I eat, exercise, and minimize the amount of stress in my life. However, just losing weight is far too vague and unspecific.

So I am going to use the S.M.A.R.T criteria to help put more detail in my goal. Weight loss is a challenge for since I suffer from a chronic illness that creates a lower to non metabolism for me to maintain a healthy weight.

* S – Specific:

* Beginning weight = (**private but self noted in fitness tracker**) New Ending weight = (**private but self noted in fitness tracker**)

* To lose 10-15 pounds by December 31, 2014.

* To improve athletic performance

* To reduce overall body fat

* M – Measurable

* Weight loss – Easily measurable. Take weight every Saturday morning and record in log.

* Improve athletic performance by holding self accountable making it to the gym, hiring a personal trainer, and increase duration and weights.

* Reduction of body fat – Easily measured through BMI calculation formula. Record every Saturday morning for visual progression.

* A – Attainable

* My goals should be set high but realistic. Attainable.

* Starting Date: 9/28/2014 – 12/31/14 = 13.5 Weeks (average of .9 pound loss weekly). Record weekly in log.

* Eat better: low sugar and high protein diet. Increase the amount of H20 intake. Keep calorie intake to 1200-1500 per day. Record and log.

* Seeing personal trainer Tuesday & Thursday (2x weekly). Work out at gym 3x weekly for cardiovascular. Record and increase duration by week. Start with walking 1-mile / workout and work up to running 2.5-miles / workout.

* Engage in 30 minutes of abdominal, leg, and toning exercises...
