YouTube Advertisement

Most everyone has used or heard of YouTube. It’s a popular website where users can submit videos for others to watch. The viewer can then rate the video or comment if they want to interact with others. I’ve always been amazed with YouTube and watch videos from there every day. My purpose in writing this is to go in depth about the YouTube print advertisement I found and to discuss whether or not it does its job well.

The advertisement is very unique. It has a vintage look even though it was probably released sometime between 2005 and now. The ad features a nicely dressed man sitting cross-legged in a chair with a keyboard sitting in his lap. He isn’t touching the keyboard with his hands. Instead, one hand is resting on the back support of his chair and the other is gesturing toward the computer sitting on the table. The table is right beside the man and on the table are the computer monitor, an old looking camcorder and the computer tower. The computer screen is displaying YouTube and a video of a cat is playing.

There are big words on top of the picture which state “Your Films Will Last Forever on YouTube”. Below those words it describes the website as being “The Champion Address on the Internet!” Underneath the picture of the man is a text box surrounded in a red border. The text reads “Send and watch splendid and captivating films, 24/7. Sports, news, commercials and much more. The most charming and magnificent way to entertain the whole family.” Below the textbox is YouTube’s URL.

The colors the ad uses are old and washed out. Most of the picture is tan and brown. I would describe the picture as being muted. The only other main color is red which is used for the text “YouTube”, “The Champion Address on the Internet”, and the border around the textbox on the bottom of the page.
