“Middle Ages”

The following labels represents the Middle Ages very well: Age of Faith, Age of Feudalism, and A Golden Age. These labels have a lot of historical evidence and events that describes the Middle Ages in Europe.

The Middle Ages in Europe, is a period of time from 500 to 1400 B.C.E... The medieval era begin with destruction of the Roman Empire and the disorder that followed, which led to the rise of feudalism. During this period of darkness, the Roman Catholic Church provided spiritual direction as well as many nonreligious functions for the people of this time.

The Middle Ages is often referred to as the Age of Faith. As during this period religion dominated all aspects of life from architecture, literature, art and music. The dominant religion during this period was Christianity. They referred it as Age of Faith because religion was so pervasive in European society. Most people were fully convinced of the validity of the church’s teachings and believed that only the faithful would avoid hell and gain eternal salvation in heaven. Religion was far more important in almost every area of the medieval life-than it is in most modern societies. The majority of people in Europe followed the Christian religion under the authority of the Roman Catholic Church.

Age of Feudalism was the political and social system of the Middle Ages that slowly developed as an Ad Hoc System of security is an insecure world after the collapse of the Roman Empire. The heart of the system lay in the relationship of mutual duties between a lord and his vassal, bound together by a sacred oath, and bound to lend military assistance to each other. Feudalism had a dramatic effect on England and Europe during the Middle Ages. The pyramid of power which was the Feudal System ran to a strict’ pecking order.
