Arugmentative on Bullying

Everyday teens around the world go on with their day with one though circulating through their heads, " I am going to kill myself." Every year countless innocent lives are lost due to bullying. America's youth is being mistreated and misdiagnosed, teens are forced to wait for treatment and sometimes it's too late. States need to implement a suicide prevention program with qualified individuals not just the average guidance counselors.

3.2 million students are victims of bullying each year. These are epidemic proportions. Bullying is the leading cause of teen suicides and, in the United States, every 12.6 minutes a teen commits suicide. When a kid is beat down and bullied adults say they need to grow a thicker skin. They make it seem that bullying is an everyday thing. But, bullying causes psychological damage that could last a lifetime depending on how severe the torment is. 1 in 4 teachers see nothing wrong with bullying and will only intervene 4% of the time. Over 67% of students believe that schools respond poorly to bullying, with a high percentage of students believing that adult help is infrequent and ineffective. Bullying is a serious issue in schools everywhere, it's starts at a young age and only gets worse.90% of 4th through 8th graders report being victims of bullying. As boys age they are less likely to feel sympathy for victims of bullying, in fact they are more likely to add to the problem then solve it. Bullying cause one to feel alone and like they are unworthy. Many youth may even go to the extent of ending their lives.

After cancer and heart disease, suicide accounts for more lives lost than any other cause of death. When it comes to cancer and heart disease, it mainly affects an older population, only 1% of people diagnosed with cancer are children, and heart disease is usually developed overtime as you get older and put more stress on your heart.
