PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND

Introduction

Baking started in the Philippines through the influence of China and the Chinese people. They were the ones who took the initial baking ideas and thoughts. They went to certain areas and to search for what they can use to improve their standard of living. This has adapted over time and now there are more and more baking methods which are being used in the Philippines to ensure that their food remains tasty and that they are able to carry on certain traditions.

Bakery products have become very popular throughout the country. Breads and biscuits are the most common products but other items like cakes, pastries, cream-rolls, cookies etc. are also not lagging far behind. These items are consumed by people of all age groups across the board. Nature of these products is one main reason why such consumers prefer fresh items. Shelf life of cakes & pastries is limited and thus local manufacturers enjoy distinct advantage.

This study aims to determine the Satisfaction Levelof price and taste of Goldilocks and Red Ribbon Stores in order to know what the researcher will suggest to the both bakeshops in Sta. Rosa, Laguna and to have an idea of what the respondents will develop to meet the consumer satisfaction.

Background of the study

Goldilocks bakeshop and Red Ribbon are some of the longest running bakeries founded in the Philippines. Goldilocks are considered as the first bakery to service the Filipino people with premium, quality cakes and pastries until red ribbon came into the Philippines. On the other hand, Red Ribbon is known as one of the Jollibee Foods Corporation’s growing fast-food chains.
