1. Q - The average score for the 5th grade math test is 89.5. The top 4th graders took the test and scored 89, 93, 91 and 87.

A – Accurate

Q - Yesterday the temperature was 89 °F, tomorrow its supposed to be 88°F and the next day its supposed to be 90°F, even though the average for September is only 75°F degrees!

A - Precise

Q – A plant grows three inches faster per day when placed on a window sill than it does when placed on a on a coffee table in the middle of the living room.

A – A plant grows more quickly in the window sill due to the sunlight, whereas on the coffee table the plant has little to no direct sunlight to promote growth.

The plant on the window sill will not grow more quickly than the plant on the coffee table, the plant does not need sunlight to grow.

Quantitative

Placing a plant in the window and placing a plant on the coffee table. Measuring the height of each plant, continuing to do so as they grow.

In my control group I will have one plant placed into a room where there is no sunlight at all.

The dependent variable would be the height of the plants.

The independent variable would be the amount of sunlight in the plant's environment. I would use a line graph with each plant's growth recorded daily.

I will measure the height of each plant daily, to determine how much each plant has grown, or if they have grown at all.
