What is the objective of the technology?

The objective of ZeroUI is to bank on gesture based interfaces in order to create new products having wide ranging capabilities with multiple customer bases.

How does it work?

It combines know-how from multiple fields-mainly Robotics, Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR) and Internet of Things (IoT). They currently have the following products (Patents pending).

Listed in the order of the ‘cool factor’

* Genius sdk: Modelling with hands and printing them with a 3D printer. (http://zeroui.com/tech/genius/)

* AR Multi Touch: Uses AR to turn any hard surface into a touch screen. (http://zeroui.com/tech/ar-multitouch/)

* Haptics Glove: Uses VR to create a sense of touch. (http://zeroui.com/tech/vr-haptics-glove/)

* Handimate: gesture based UI. (http://zeroui.com/tech/handimate-tech/)

AppendixAugmented Reality: Augmented reality can be best explained in one word: ‘Medium’. It diminishes the physical real world into a computer system. Mouseless and Samsung’s SixthSense are some commercial examples of AR. Virtual Reality: Unlike AR, this is a computer generated environment. It takes is certain input calculates and stimulates an output (as desired).Arduino: An open source company that builds micro controller like devices to program interactive objects. Available as DIY kits. |

Multitouch has three components. A computer, a projector and a depth sensing camera (Microsoft Kinect). The projector displays contents from the screen while Kinect analyzes the depth (distance from the flat surface – A table, a counter top, etc). As soon as the user places his hand close to the screen the Kinects starts snapping pictures at the rate of 30fps. An image processing algorithm run on the computer and tracks changes as the hand moves. In short, the computer will know where your hand is at any point of time. When the user’s finger comes a few...
