'Why Abortion is Immoral' by Dan Marquis

In Dan Martin’s essay ‘Why Abortion is Immoral’, the opening try’s to help the reader define the very question of the aforementioned title of the essay. Within the third paragraph he quite plainly states his views were not considering abortions when it threatens the life of the mother, rape or before implantation. These and these situations alone are all that plays out of the script view of this particular essay. This is not necessarily pointed out for us as the reader to make us believe that those were his views personally. As far as Martin pointing out specifically what may not be considered as immoral, there was nothing. All that was offered was were his exceptions for the purpose of this particular essay. Which I found to be pretty wordy and difficult to go through all in one time. This strikes me as odd considering it is not a very long essay but it did seem repetitive and heavy handed.

The writer presents his case for ‘killing’ in the context of prima facie. It is his theory that it is presumed to be true that killing is just intrinsically wrong. It de-values life as a whole and what its purpose of being is.

This parlé’s itself into the discussion of how real it is to assume that whatever life has been taken has surely taken away a value of history away. What I took from it is that all that the person or thing had in its proposed or eventual future would never come to be because it was taken away from them by killing them. They will, as well as their friends and family, not be privy to what may have been yet to be offered to the person that is now deceased. This provides as the writers claim as the primary wrong-making feature of a killing.
