I was in desperate need of some cheering up considering things are stressful in my daily life and found an article that related to a fundraiser I am currently working on for a school here in Cincinnati. This article is about eight girls from Canada that dresses up lamp posts with coats and puts “I am not lost. If you need me to get warm, take me” on their zipper. I am so pleased that they were helping individuals and I was so pleased that their parents were helping them help individuals as well. I thought about how I have gone out and found coats, hats, and gloves, but I cannot seem to raise the money the school needs for more necessities. I also thought where they get all of those coats since I am having trouble finding some myself. The article goes into how the children wanted to do something to help the homeless. They brainstormed ways then they decided to collect lightly used winter necessities- coats, gloves, and scarfs. After two weeks they had many items to distribute to each lamp post. At the end of the article was similar to the phrase I tell myself very often. “Be the change you want to see in the world.” I sat there and read the article a couple more times. I smiled because I love seeing others help people, but I love to hear about the younger generations going good in this cold-hearted world. I thought about how you hear and see about so much bad that it detaches you from all the good things that go unrecognized.

This article, to me, wants us to go out and spend time with people less fortunate than us and go and help out our country. This article tells me to stop trying to be unique and be united for once. We all need to be leaders and take a stand to everything that is going on. I feel that they posted...
