Subject: (CNN) -- An Illinois jury on Thursday found former Chicago-area police sergeant Drew Peterson guilty of murder in the 2004 death of his ex-wife.

Main Idea: Drew Peterson had been found guilty for the murder of his ex-wife Kathleen Salvio in 2004. In Feburary 2008 authorities altered their judgment and ruled Savio's death as a homicide. Peterson was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. What is interesting is Bolingbrook, Illinois, records indicate officers had been called to Savio's home 18 times to intervene in domestic fight from 2002 to 2004. Peterson had Savio arrested twice for domestic violence, but she was found not guilty in both cases. On Thursday, Will County State's Attorney James Glasgow stated "We took him on and we won," he said of Peterson, whom he called "a coward and a bully." "This defendant brutally killed Kathleen Savio.”

How does this effect us?

It only affects us in ways of understanding that those kind of people are out there, and the abuse, and arguments can lead to tragic misfortunes.

What do you think about the subject or topic? Why?

I thought it was sad, that an innocent woman was killed probably for no reason. Understanding that there are cold blooded people out there in which I don’t understand why.

In what I read, I honestly believe Peterson belongs in jail.
