The Bible gives us numerous noble instances of humility. One of the greatest in my mind is the humility of Christ as demonstrated in Philippians 2:1-11. This is clearly shown in Philippians 2:1-4 which states “2:1 Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion, 2 make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose. 3 Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; 4 do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others (NASB). Paul tells us that we are to care for one another as Christ cared for us when He died on the cross, bearing our sins so that we could keep on living. Just as Christ did when He humbled and gave Himself to death, we, as humans, must continue His legacy of caring and assisting one another.

When He took on the human nature, He became a man in all things, excluding sin. The two states or natures of Christ, humiliation and exaltation, are shown here as He stepped from the glory that He shared with the Father. He willingly took upon...
