Fedex corporation is a logistics service company based in Memphis , United States. It was originally known as federal express until 2000. It specializes in e-commerce, transportation and business services. It also provides different types of shipping services. It operates across 375 destinations, in more than 220 countries and territories.

It is a public enterprise part of courier industries. In 2008, it recorded a net revenue of about $21.6 billion.(2010). It has a workforce of more than 141000 employees worldwide. Fedex connects 90% of world’s gdp in 3 days. Its assets value upto around 25.633 billion.

History

January 1998: FDX corporation was founded with the acquisition of caliber

system inc.

January 2000: FDX corporation changed to FedEX corporation.

February 2000: it acquired tower group international, a logistics company.

It also acquired World Tariff, a customs duty and tax information

company.

February 2004: it brought kinko’s inc. and rebranded it as fedex kinkos.

September 2004: it acquired parcel direct, a parcel consolidator and rebranded it...
