A STUDY ON EFFECTIVENESS OF INDUCTION PROGRAMME

ABSTRACT. The induction training is very vital for all the new recruits. It helps to reduce the time and cost for the employees to adhere to the organization and facilitate the new employees to perform effectively. It helps the employees to feel with greater morale and they create oneness and cohesiveness among the members of the organization. Hence this internal motivation, the warm feeling as well as initial level of skills and knowledge imparted by the induction training helps the new recruits to glue themselves easily to their job and towards the organization. The study analyze the factors that influences the effectiveness of induction training programme and the impact of induction training programme towards middle and lower level employees using factor analysis.

1. INTRODUCTION
Human resource undoubtedly forms the crust of the effective functioning of any organization. Every organization recruits new employees into their organization. The new recruits into the organization vary from people who are fresh graduates to those with a great deal of experience. Irrespective of what category they belong to, these new recruits on their first day at work feel very anxious about what they are going to face in their new organization. The new recruits are confronted with a completely new environment, culture and work atmosphere.
When a new employee joins an organization, he is completely a stranger to the people, work place and the work environment. Therefore, he is likely to feel insecure, shy and nervous. In the absence of information and support there is likely to be anxiety
and fear in his mind. He may undergo reality shock caused by a gap between his expectations and the
real situation.
