Tim Kelley's restaurant is known for its excellent quality of food, but it lacks consistency and the cause of this is the numerous suppliers that supply the restaurant's ingredients, this means that the restaurant has no control over the quality of the ingridients being supplied. The operations of the restaurant is only limited to two (2) groups the front end (servers) and the back end (kitchen staff). The ordering system is out-of-date they use post it's to relay the order to the kitchen. The employees are cross trained. However the servers are receiving minimum wage with few benefits which will affect the performance of the employee. Other than that Tim's criteria is will affect the business in a negative way. There is lesser and lesser communication between the management and employees. Tim doesnt like change in his business. Meanwhile Jim's steakhouse has consistency due to the fact that they choose fresh produce from best suppliers. They also value their customers by giving them extra portions and asking them for feedback. His criterion on hiring and selecting employees ensures competency. His employees are also well compensated with benefits. He caters to the needs of both his customers and employees. Also studies his competition to improve his business even further, to ensure customers that they will be given the best service and product for their satisfaction.

I would recommend Tim Kelly to change his attitude/ways and accept that his business needs some changes, he also needs to be involved in the processess in his business starting with his suppliers, he should control what ingredients he receives to ensure consistency and quality product. He should give his employees better compensation so that his employees would give good service to his customers and probably create a working environment that the employees will be loyal, productive and responsible.
