Project Description

The Milwaukee Production Plant has erroneously gone over budget. The budget oversight is reflected in excessive overtime, loss of machine time, backorders, zero available (demand capture), and product line shortfalls. It has been determined that the root cause of the issue is related to the lack of plant leveling and process transparency. Milwaukee Production Plant has been mandated to level the plant process and inventory control through the implementation of an inventory and process visualization system.

The immediate challenges Milwaukee will face is the loss of production, system capability, and material movement. The current backorders continue to climb and the loss of production will be reflected in the daily shipping requirements. The outside vendors, who currently machine, assemble and store product lines will require system upgrades and additional training. In some cases interpretation of or new procedures will challenge the creativeness of the training department to meet the needs of the language barriers that do exist.
