1. Using the critical thinking skills you have gained and the materials provided for this assignment, identify two possible strategies that Thomas Hutchinson or Samuel Adams, or both, likely used to develop and improve his thinking prior to taking a stand and acting according to his beliefs.

Both Thomas Hutchison and Samuel Adams were considered political pioneers. Hutchison and Adams educated themselves on what they felt were the needs of the colonist. Both men were also writers. Thomas believed that Parliament should have supreme power over the colonist. In his central political thesis he pleaded with colonist, to reserve the right of the Englishmen, as well as obeying British trade regulations. Samuel believed that we should be independent from British rule. Both men were writers and used the writings to express the views on political issues such as taxation from the British and the new countries positions within British ruling, especially in regards to trade agreements and taxations. Both men also had strong believes in what was fair and adequate for colonist.

2. Explain the importance of building a foundation for critical and creative thinking when evaluating historical events such as the Boston Tea Party.

By building a strong foundation for critical and creative thinking, it allows a person to have the ability to, evaluate, analyze and explain their views of the Boston Tea Party by distinguishing what information would be helpful and harmful when creating a firm concept. It allows us to the ability to recognize what is true and factual, and sort through information that may be bias or based on opinion. A...
