1.0 Terms of Reference

In recent years, a new concept has appeared and developed, there is a pattern reciprocal service exchange which uses units of times as currency and is an example of an alternative monetary system, people named it as “Time bank”. It looks like a charity organization and also known as a service exchange , the units of currency in this time bank always valued at an hour’s worth of any person’s labour and expend, the aim of this organization is to provide incentive and rewards for the labour such as mentoring children, caring for the elderly, being neighbourly, then build a strong social connection. Definitely these work often done by volunteers, nowadays only a few parts of people know and understand it, so it is very important to spread the effect and strength to a wide range, let more people know and willing to join in the time bank. Essentially, time bank is one spend time to help others, at the same time, one earn the same time debit to receive others’ help. More people join in the time bank and to be a volunteer, more benefit the people could goal. The best situation for the time bank is to let it to be a worldwide organization, it could promoting the world to be more harmony and gather all countries to be a global village, therefore, volunteers could use some non-communication tools just like radio, party, picture of time bank’s brand, video, sponsor and race to spread and propaganda the time bank.
