• Address the underlying causes of unipolar and bipolar disorders.

The underlying factors in the causes of unipolar depression are biological and cognitive. But different factors such as low serotonin that causes a person to be slow in reacting to stressful situations and may not enjoy life’s everyday pleasures or very few of them. Because of this low level of serotonin they may feel helpless and often act negatively towards life events. These factors may be the cause of, result from, or may be the reason for it to keep going. Unipolar is the most common type of mood disorder and can involve many areas of a person’s life. Low levels of a neurotransmitters norepinephrine and serotonin helps the cause of unipolar depression. The differences of unipolar and bipolar is that people with bipolar has had an episode of manic before and people with unipolar has not had any episodes of manic.

• What symptoms would indicate that an individual may be suffering from a unipolar or bipolar disorder?

The symptoms that is evident that an individual is suffering from unipolar or bipolar is a dark and yet interesting reality that has struck interest in the minds of many scientists that spend many long months trying to understand and treat these disorders. These disorders have cost millions of dollars, many hours of loss of work, and many hours of hospitalization that the causes are hardly if at all calculated. But the symptoms are easily recognized, some of the symptoms that we can recognize and identify as an indication that an individual may be suffering from these disorders are; Emotional Symptoms where a person may describe being miserable, empty, or feel little pleasure from anything.
