The Development of My Literacy

For the Chinese, the literacy is a rather important talent in current society. It is a trouble thing if you cannot read and write because people need through writing to express their own opinions and via reading to learn a lot of knowledge from literatures. That is the main reason why people sent their children to school to learn the literacy. There are some significant events to inspire and influence my ability of reading and writing of my first language.

My mother was a journalist of local newspaper office and had the biggest impact on my literacy. She usually told me that reading and writing were two extremely important skills people should have. Therefore, she trained those two skills since I was six years old. When I travelled around China, she always required me to write something about my trip such as how beautiful the landscape was, what I learned from this trip, what was the most cheerful thing I experienced, etc. After finishing writing about my trip, my mother would help me to submit my composition for publication. It was not willing for me to write about my trip, because the writing was far more boring than travel. Every time, the travel closing to the end, my mother always reminded me to write.

“Do not forget that you have one essay should write for this travel.”

“Mom, I am so tired and not want to write anything.”

“Writing can let you remember the happy time of your trip and recall some good moment you do not notice before.”

At that time, I really could not understand my mother and just obeyed what my mother wanted me to do. However, when seeing my composition which posted in newspaper and obtained little royalty for my essay, I felt very pound of myself and started to like writing.
