Explain how Saint Laurent used innovation to enhance his image as a designer?

Innovation is a process of renew or continuous improvement to the particular subjects. Many businesses applied the concept of innovation to their product to ensure their products can compete within the industry. Saint Laurent is in the fashion industry that very volatile with the time. The fashion industry must be adapted with the changing of the environment because the taste and style of the consumers always change from time to time.

Saint Laurent also applied process of innovation to their business. Saint Laurent introduces a new trend that is suitable for woman. For example, they had given women shoulder pads, safari suits and trouser-suits as a new trend. This innovation gets a good feedback from the customers. They get a competitive advantage in the industry by introducing these products. The step that taken by the company show the company is very innovative in their business which is fashion because able to produce the products that are different with the others.

In the other hand, they also applies a men trend and styles into the women perspectives. This innovation also gets good responses from the customers. For example, the trouser that wears by man is also designated to the woman who is designated suitable to the women styles. The innovation that made by them give a big impact to the women especially the women in the workplace. Even though, the actress Marlene Dietrich wore trousers in the thirties, it was Saint Laurent who could be credited with the trend today by cobbling together from men’s tailoring. Saint Laurent also fine tuned polo necks and more trousers to suit them as women’s attire.
