Using feedback effectively

The feedback you receive on work is a good guide on how your work is progressing. The comments provide information on how far you have achieved the learning outcomes for the assignment, and comments on the text provide suggestions for improving aspects of your academic writing. Use this form to develop your skills in this area.

1. Working on feedback:

Read the feedback on your assignment carefully then re-read the piece of work to see the areas that the feedback refers to. You might use a highlighter pen to cross-reference the feedback to your work, or to draw attention to corrections and suggestions. |

What has your tutor written 1. Reflect on and improve referencing. 2. Provide more relevant evidence to back up arguments. 3. Stick to the main point and try not to talk about irrelevant issues. 4. Use more reliable sources for when providing definitions. | What do you understand this to mean? 1. I must check my reference list and make a clear distinction between my primary sources and secondary sources. 2. When I am talking about resistance to control I must provide more evidence from literature to back up my arguments. 3. When talking about rewards and punishments I went into too much detail. This wasn’t very relevant to the topic. 4. Use appropriate literature when giving definitions instead of using general websites. |
