To me, the value of a college degree is way more significant than some others. It’s due to my upbringing from a low incoming family and the importance of an education taught to me. My parents, the inspirations of my life, showed me how a college education can turn your life in moment of a second. Going through all the struggles of a low income family and the restrictions it follows by not having money to buy school related items, books, not having internet at home etc. has also inspired and motivated me to pursue a college degree. Via, the years I have come across many majors that I’ve liked like biology, computer science, but the major that attracted me the most was electrical engineering. It’s because of how today’s world relies on electricity the most; I would like to understand the concept of electricity generation and the human need for it. Majoring and receiving a degree in this field will help me fulfill my parents as along my dream and do what I like as a profession. Acquiring this college degree, will also help me serve my community better. As everyone knows there are more less fortunate’s than fortunate’s, so I’ll be able to raise awareness about education as along the value of a college degree. As part of this, I will be capable of giving the underprivileged an option in life, which they would not have considered. By getting an education the less privileged will also realize the importance of setting goals in life to accomplish their dreams and aspirations, just like me. I think that everyone should have an equal opportunity to pursue what they want regardless of their social status.
