Tahoe verses Yukon

With the new addition to the family, it was imperative that we needed a larger

vehicle. That is when the search for a Sports Utility begins. Many of my friends spoke highly

of the Chevy Tahoe and the GMC Yukon. The price, size, performance, and mileage were

key factors, being that I didn’t know anything about either vehicle. All they needed was an all

purpose vehicle. With the demands of our lifestyle, dependability and affordability is a key

factor when choosing a vehicle that would have a major impact on your life.

In researching, the 2009 Chevy Tahoe LTZ there is a significant price difference between

the 2009 GMC Yukon Denali model. To be exact, a $20,690 difference. The facts states that the

Tahoe is more affordable with the price totaling $34,880 including the manufacturers suggested

retail price, destination charge, and invoice price versus the Yukon totaling $ 55,570. Both

vehicle has an V-8 engine but the Tahoe has two other engines that are ran on different

horse powers. All though, the Yukon has the advantage when it comes to the availability of

transmissions, which they have the 6 speed automatic with over drive and the auto-manual. The

Tahoe only has the 4 speed automatic with over drive. Furthermore in researching, the Yukon

could be thirty dollars higher depending on the insurance company.

In addition to the price and performance you also need to look at the mileage and what

types of gas both vehicles use, which is a huge deciding factor especially with the gases prices. I

have heard some friends say the Yukon is the better looking vehicle, but we all know the old

saying, “Everything the looks good isn’t always good.” Economically the Tahoe is the

better gas saver on city miles which averages 15 miles per gallon and the Yukon is 13 miles

per gallon. Ironically both average the same on high way miles....
