Intrinsic Value: Value that the environment and life forms have in their own right, and which is not derived from the human use they can or cannot be put to.
Utilitarian Justification: reasoning for conservation based on the idea that the environment should provide direct economic benefits to the population
Aesthetic Justification: A rationale for the conservation of nature based omits beauty and aesthetic qualities
Moral Justification: A rationale for the conservation of nature based on the idea that elements of the environment have a right to exist, independent of human desire
Mass Extinction: the disappearance of numerous species in a short period by a force of nature such as climate change or a volcanic eruption
Global Extinction: extinction of all species on Earth
Background Extinction: The ongoing extinction of individual species due to environmental or ecological factors such as climate change, disease, loss of habitat, or competitive disadvantage in relation to other species
Local Extinction: is the condition of a species which ceases to exist in the chosen geographic area of study, though it still exists elsewhere
