As the director of this local television station, the decision has been made to select the story about our city council voting to close city parks for 3 days a week to save money over the death of a major celebrity. This choice has been made because of the severe impact the 3 day a week city park closure will have during the summer months to the community’s families. The death of a celebrity will bring a high amount of ratings however, the city park closure will have a bigger impact on the community. As the director of this station, the way these stories are going to be promoted to get the best advertisement and promotional potential so this station can draw in all possible viewers will be by announcing the death of the celebrity and the city council vote on closing our city parks 3 days a week to save money in the headlines draw in our viewers. The lead story will be about city councils inability to balance a budget and their decision to close the people’s parks 3 days out of the week instead of taking the money from another source that would have less of an impact on the citizens of the city. We will entice our viewers with the death of the celebrity story so that they stay tuned in and after the commercial break when we will continue on with that story.
