1. Introduction

Communication plays the main role in business activities. Without communication, things will not work well, but when there is a communication in business, things will go smoothly. Besides, a business does not only require communication in it, but also Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). CSR is described as how the business operations can be managed so that it will give positive impacts on society (Mallen Baker 2004). In other words, the companies play an important part in society in which they have to do social interaction and they have a responsibility to have the society and environment gets positive effects from the companies.

2. Lindt and Sprungli AG

Lindt and Sprungli AG (L&S) is a luxury Swiss chocolate that is admitted as a market retailer for premium quality chocolate. The product is offered in over 100 countries around the world. It was established in Australia in 1997, but it has been producing chocolate in Zurich since 1845. Since that, Lindt & Sprungli chocolate got a great reputation for its best quality product. In addition, it has innovated by creating a wide range of chocolate so that it is known as a creative and innovative company that makes premium chocolates (Lindt 2011). As a result of its creations, it becomes the representation for premium chocolate from Swiss with the best quality that has existed for a long time.

Lindt & Sprungli has stated itself on CSR in which the activities of the company will be set up by United Nations (UN) Global Compact. UN Global Compact is an initiative strategy to control the businesses with ten proper standards which is related to human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption. As a result of it, the activities in business will give benefits to societies, environment and economies.
